Is it possible to set the background color on the Total (Row and/or Column) of a Matrix. I'm talking the entire Row and/or column not just the cell that reads "Total". I would like to have my subtotal rows and columns to be gray.Yes, It is possible!
In the textbox that has the "Total", you'll see, in the right upermost corner, a "green flag"; click and in the properties window set the background color to gray.

Matrix Report Background Color
I have the following applied as an expression to the background color
on a cell
=IIF( Sum(Fields!Percentile.Value, "RegionalSnaps") >= 10, "Yellow",
"White")
I only want the ones above 10% to be yellow, otherwise white.
Any ideas anyone on why the entire range of cells are yellow and not
just the one above 10%?Is percentile an integer or a float. If float test is >= .10

Appreciate all the help, I have made the change, and its still
highlighting the entire range of cells instead of just those above 10%,

value of .111 came back with yellow background. So I would go back to the
format of the value coming in and verify that you have a number with decimals
coming in. Also verify the scope of the IIF test if you have multiple data
sources with the same field names.

The accountmv field is a datatype money, just dont understand what the

value of .111 came back with yellow background. So I would go back to the
format of the value coming in and verify that you have a number with decimals
coming in. Also verify the scope of the IIF test if you have multiple data
sources with the same field names.

Matrix Report and Expression on field
I have a matrix report that has two columns, and one of the colums has the following expression for background color:
=IIF( Fields!Percentile.Value >= .10, "Yellow", "White")
Basically if the percent is greater than 10 highlight the field, for some reason i have some fields that dont show up yellow, see below:

your colour expression needs to wrap the field reference with the same aggregate function as the textbox value expression.
So, if you are using: =sum(Fields!Percentile.Value) as your value then change the colour expression to
=IIF( SUM(Fields!Percentile.Value) >= .10, "Yellow", "White")
this is because when no aggregate function is specified the the first value returned is used by default to evaluate the expression.

Matrix columns - Conditional Formatting - Column Number
Hi,
I am trying to create a Matrix with each dynamically created column having a
differnet background colour. Any ideas on how to achieve this ?
If I could access the column number some how I could just apply conditional
formatting based on the column number, but I cant seem to find out how to get
at the column number.How are you creating the columns dynamically?
Do you know what is your maximum # or columns?|||1. I am not - I Just drag the field to the first column heading in the
matrix and reporting services does the dynamic bit.
2. No, it will be different on each implementation, but generally less than
10 - so I am happy to put a sensible limit on it and have the colours wrap
around after a set number of columns if the limit is exceeded - or base the
colour on some formula.
As an example :
Centre1 Centre2 ..... Centre N
Males x x ..... x
Females x x ..... x
...
...
more stats
I want the column for centre1 in blue, centre2 in yellow... and so on.
Each implementaion will have different centre names and centre ids, so I
dont want to tie the formatting into a particluar value in the data. One
solution would be to add a "rank" field to my data set and then use this
field in the conditional formatting, but I dont really want to add this
complexity to my data set and feel there must be an easier way than this.

My subtotal column's background color is dark gray and the text is bold
when the row group is collapsed, but I don't see this in other similar
matrix reports without a row group. This report was inherited from a
previous developer.
How did they do it? Even if I set the subtotal cell's colors to be
different from the entire column, they synchronize. I want to do this,
but can't figure out whether it's a setting or not.

on that triangle, the VS properties window should show style settings that
specifically apply to subtotals row/columns.

Matrix - Alternating row colours
Hello,
My first posting - I am fairly new to reporting services and I wonder if
anyone knows how to alternate the background colour on a row in a matrix?
I can do a similar thing in a table using
=iif(RowNumber(Nothing) Mod 2, "#ffffff","#d3efef")
this doesn't function correctly if it's placed across the matrix row - and
outputs wrong over individual cells.
