Matrix - Row Headers

does anyone know how to add row headers? I have a matrix with a row composed
of 5 groups, but I'm not able to add headers to each group because the header
cells are merged into one.
Also, is there a way to move selective row groups around? i.e. I would like
to move row group 2 and 4 to the end of the column grouping and leave 1,3 and
5 in front.
Any suggestions?I haven't been able to find a way to split that merged cell above the row
headers in a matrix. I have asked this group a couple of times, but didn't
get a response.
I need to do it because I want titles above the row group headers in a
matrix, and I can't insert white space to separate the headers in the merged
cell. (see Ponnurangam's post earlier today).
This is the one issue my users are not happy about. It is confusing when
there are several row headers in a matrix with no titles above them.

I've managed to insert a table in the matrix field. Even if i have to
align all columns by hand it works ;). Just drag and drop from the
toolbox inte the header area.
One problem though. Theay are not visible in any Excel export.
But for the web it works quite ok.

an error message "Data Regions within table/matrix cells are ignored." This
happens to be the exact problem I was just searching this forum, hoping to
find a solution for.

with the 5 groups. Then separately add a table object on the report with
five columns. The table will only have one HEADER row and 5 columns. Put
the column headings in the table. Then cut and paste the table into the
matrix textbox spanning over the groups. Then just resize the cells of the
table with the matrix cell resizing. It's best if the matrix groups can be
fixed. This is a little tricky to control but it does work.

errors. It's pretty easy but not readily intuitive.
1. Resize the report body by dragging the lower edge downward to create some
working space.
2. Drop a "Rectangle" control onto the report body.
3. Drop one "Textbox" control onto the rectangle control for each row header
needed.
4. Resize the textboxes so that they are the right size for each row column
and line them up starting in the upper left corner of the rectangle control.
5. Resize the rectangle control so that it fits around the texboxes.
6. Select the entire rectangle control, cut it and then paste it into the
single textbox area in the matrix where the row headers belong.
Voila! Now why couldn't Microsoft have included this in the Books Online?
Cheers,
John

Thanks John!

I've tried your suggested solution. The Headers display Okay in Report
Preview and export Okay to PDF. They don't however export to Excel (2003
SP1), which is unfortunate as it's the only format the users are interested
in.
Any suggestions?
